Age Limit

RRB Section Controller Exam Pattern 2026

The RRB Section Controller examination will begin with a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT). The CBT will contain objective type questions and will be used for shortlisting candidates for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT).

RRB Section Controller Syllabus 2026

The RRB Section Controller CBT syllabus mainly covers analytical, mathematical, logical and mental reasoning abilities. Candidates should prepare the topics given in the official CEN carefully.

  • Mathematics: Number System, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Discounts, Time, Speed and Distance, Power and Work, Algebra, Linear Equations, Arithmetic Progression, LCM, HCF, Geometry, Area and Volumes, Probability and Basic Statistics.
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation: Data presented through text, tables, charts, graphs, scatter plots, pie charts, statistical distributions and Venn diagrams.

  • Reading Comprehension: Questions based on passages from areas such as History, Society, Literature, Science, Environment, Technology and Culture.
  • Mental Reasoning: Analogy, Series Completion, Coding-Decoding, Ranking and Arrangement based questions.

RRB Section Controller CBAT 2026

Candidates shortlisted from the CBT will be called for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Candidates equal to about 8 times the vacancies may be shortlisted for CBAT based on CBT merit.

  • CBAT questions and answer options will be available in English and Hindi.
  • Candidates must secure a minimum T-Score of 42 in each test battery.
  • There is no negative marking in CBAT.
  • Candidates must qualify in each test battery to be considered for the Section Controller post.
  • The final merit for candidates qualifying in CBAT will give 70% weightage to CBT and 30% weightage to CBAT.

RRB Section Controller 2026 Selection Process
